A fun tournament, not to be missed, is the Doubles Surprise Daytime Tournament which will be played...
The UQ Tennis Club's 2026 Tournament Program continues with the Autumn Night Series Tournaments....

2026 June Tuesday Night Singles Fixtures

The June Tuesday Night-time Singles Fixtures will run from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on two consecutive Tuesday nights (23 & 30 June).

Entrants in the Night-time Singles Fixtures must commit for both Tuesday nights.

Players are eligible to enter if they have a Tennis Australia Competitive Player Profile (linked to Universal Tennis Ratings) and, if a junior, are 16 years of age or older in 2026 (i.e. born 2010 or earlier).

The Singles Fixtures will be run as an any-gender competition and will use a mixture of Teams Fixtures and Tournament rules.

Players will be divided into round-robin groups of six by standard and each player will play every other player in their group once.  Points will be awarded as follows (3 points for a win and 1 point for a loss with 0.1 bonus points for every game won).  The round-robin will be followed by play-offs between the players who finish 1st & 2nd on points, the players who finish 3rd & 4th on points and the players who finish 5th & 6th on points.  This will give all players 5 matches in the round-robin plus 1 play-off match on the final night (i.e. 6 matches each).

Although players will be able to nominate a preference for A1, A2, B or C Grade when they enter, the final group names and the division of players into those groups will be decided by the UQ Tennis Club's organizing committee with the aim of having the best six players in the highest group, the next best six in the second group, and so on until all players have been allocated to a group. Division of players into groups will be determined using players’ verified UTRs at the close of entries.

All matches will be one set (i.e. first to 6 games with a tie-break if the score reaches 5-games all).  45 minutes will be allocated for each match with a 5-minute warm-up before the first match each night.  Players will play three matches per night in the 7 to 7:50 p.m., 7:50 to 8:35 p.m. and 8:35 to 9:20 p.m. timeslots.

All matches will be played, so the season may be extended to 7 July or beyond to play any washed-out matches.

There is a limit to the number of players that can be accommodated with the competition format and this competition is restricted to 30 players.  Therefore, entries can be closed early.  If the competition over-subscribes, the order of receipt of entries will be used to determine the final acceptances.

The season fee is $60 for Ordinary, Associate & Junior members of the UQ Tennis Club or $70 for all others.

Entries close on Sunday, 14 June.

Entries must be lodged on-line through the Tennis Australia Tournaments Website here
